Thank you for writing this! I almost became a trad wife at 19, when I was engaged, planned my wedding and got my trad interior design on. I made a wedding website! Then, 6 weeks before the “I do’s" I escaped and never looked back. Ten years later I am unmarried, without kids, living in Europe and doing my PhD. I live in a studio apartment and not a homestead. My old friends think my life path has veered disastrously off course as they post their trad wife lives on the gram (bio reading “Mama, baker, Christ lover"). I on the other hand could literally not be happier with my lot in life, my tattoo, nape cut, defiance of gender roles and higher education. Albeit the trad wife life is still something I think and laugh about, I know behind the grams are real people who regardless of how much scripture they post, they still have the complicated, real, and often confusing emotions that us heathens have. Perhaps just like my former trad wife mother, when they turn 50 they too will come out as gay and finally live their best life with tradness is their wake. But till then, enjoy the homemade bread!
